Maryrose together with the Maltese Female Entrepreneurs of the AMIE project attended the European SME Week Summit, co-organised by European Commission together with the European Parliament in Brussels on 7 October 2011.
The European SME Week is an event intended to act as a beacon of the activities carried out by all levels of public administration, from European to local, to support SMEs and entrepreneurship and in which 37 countries participate.
Seven hundred and fifty selected participants (MEPs, entrepreneurs, business organisations and regional and national officials) were invited to take part in this one-day conference which included an opening and closing plenary in the Parliament’s Hemicycle and 10 parallel workshops dealing with 10 SME policy issues. Entrepreneurs as well as European, national and regional policymakers, business organisations and other stakeholders took part.
High level speakers included, European Commission Vice President Tajani, responsible for Enterprise and Industry; The Deputy Minister of Economy of Poland, Mr. Baniak; and The President of the European Parliament’s SME Interservice Group, Mr. Karas.
